Authorities have asked anyone impacted to prepare to be away from home for up to 24 hours. Residents already away from their homes are urged to contact Derbyshire Police via Facebook Messenger or by calling 101.
A rest centre has been established at the Salvation Army centre on Osmaston Road to assist those affected. Emergency services, including police, fire, and ambulance teams, remained on scene into the evening.
